Fundraising doesn’t need to feel complicated. Start with the people you know, give them a reason to care, and build from there.
A few simple actions can help get your page moving, and keep it moving.
Every dollar you raise helps MND Victoria lighten the load for families and carers by supporting the care, equipment, information and connection they rely on.
To mark MND Victoria’s 45th anniversary, we’re giving you an extra reason to get moving early. Raise or receive your first $45 tax-deductible donation to unlock your exclusive Carry The Load resource pack.
PLUS... don't miss out on the chance to get your hands on the limited edition Carry The Load sticker sheet! Available while stock lasts!

Add a photo, share why you’re taking part, and set a fundraising target that feels achievable.
You don’t need to have chosen your load before you begin. The most important thing is to get started early and build from there.
Think family, close friends, colleagues or people who already know why this matters to you.
Don’t overthink your first message. Tell people what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and ask them directly to support you.
If you’d like to get things moving yourself, you can also make the first donation to your page and set the tone for others to follow.
Thank your supporter, tell people you’re off the mark and use that progress as a reason to keep going.
Try a different group next - workmates, friends, your club or your wider social media network. You could even ask a local business to display a poster or help spread the word.
People have more reasons to respond when there’s something new to say.
Your Carry The Load story will keep changing as the date gets closer, so give people something new to respond to - share the progress, not just your page.
When you’re getting close to your target, tell people exactly what you need to get there and remind them what their support helps make possible.
And if you hit your target early? Celebrate it, then increase it if you’re ready to keep going.
Fundraising can be a team effort too.
Taking part with family, friends, colleagues, your club or community gives you more people to share the challenge (and the fundraising) with.
Set a team goal, share the asking, host a fundraiser or celebrate milestones together. You could also ask your workplace to share your challenge internally or even match what you raise.
More than 600 families are currently impacted by MND in Victoria, and fundraising helps MND Victoria continue providing the care and support they rely on.
Every dollar raised helps support people living with MND, their families and carers through equipment, education and connection.
Use that impact in your fundraising messages. When people understand why you’re asking, it gives them a stronger reason to get behind you.
Local media may be interested in your story, but so would we!
If you’d like help sharing it, get in touch with the MND Victoria team at community@mnd.org.au.
